![]() Manischewitz Co.Members of BCTGM Local 3 (New York, N.Y.) help make the Manischewitz Company the world's leading producer of kosher foods. One union-made staple found in Jewish homes during Passover is an unleavened bread called "matzoh." Most of the matzoh sold in the U.S. and Canada is made exclusively by Local 3 members who work at the Manischewitz Company, which also sells under the Horowitz-Margareten and Goodman names. Originally, Manischewitz focused primarily on the baking of matzohs, however, the company now markets a full kosher food line for Passover, as well as for daily use. In addition to the bakery warehouse and office complexes in Jersey City, N.J., where workers are represented by Local 3, the company has a food processing plant in Vineland, N.J. where IBT members produce the company's Gefilte Fish products, as well as a wide variety of other kosher foods. The following list details some of the Manischewitz product line produced by Local 3 members at the Jersey City plant.
