More than two-thirds of working Americans—68 percent—say workplace rights need more protection today. Employers inspire little trust that they will treat workers fairly, corporations have too much power and new laws are needed to hold corporations responsible for the way they treat employees, according to America's workforce.

These are among the findings of a major national survey conducted for the AFL-CIO by Peter D. Hart Research Associates—the most exhaustive study ever done on workers' rights in America, released Aug. 30.
