March 2002

  • CBC employee contacts BCTGM International headquarters.

 

April 2002

  • First meeting between CBC workers and BCTGM rep’s.

 

May 2002

  • Authorization card-signing begins. Over 600 sign cards.

  • May 30 - R.C. Petition filed.

 

June 2002

  • CBC hires union-busting law firm, Eastman & Smith, and union-busting consulting firm, MMI.

 

August 2002

  • Twelve original Unfair Labor Practice’s are filed with a “motion to proceed with the election” to Regional Board.

  • August 15 - Election: Board Doesn’t Certify Results due to Objections

  • August 16 - Union supporter Bill Lawhorn fired, more Unfair Labor Practice charges are filed along with objections to election

  • August 22 - Union supporter Russ Teagardin fired additional charges filed for unlawful firing of Russ and more threats by Co.

 

November 2002 - January 2003

  • Five more union supporters fired; John Green, Gary Hill, Thom Thompson, Tyrone Holly and Patti Wickman
